OVERVIEW

Fortress Building Products is seeking a Project Advisor to join our Channel Sales Specifications Team. Are you a successful, driven, and goal-oriented person with a sales and estimating background in outdoor living spaces (ex. decks, pools, pergolas, patios, backyard living)? In this role, you would work directly with the homeowner to help design outdoor projects and answer questions on product selection, correct application, and develop scopes of work for outdoor residential projects utilizing The Total Fortress Solution.

This position must be highly motivated, have high energy, and the ability to work closely with multiple team members and departments including Estimating, Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Product Managers, Supply Chain, and Shipping/Warehouse. This position will also work closely with dealers and contractors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Own the pass through of all projects moving from the estimating stage to ordering processing with our dealer and contractor partners.
  • Foster an environment of open communication internally and with our customers.
  • Maintain a high energy and comprehensive working knowledge of Fortress brands including Fortress Deck, Fortress Framing, Fortress Fence, and Fortress Railing products.
  • Work with other Channel Sales team members in organizing and coordinating sales efforts geared toward the consumer within their respective geographical territories.
  • Record activity and information into company CRM and keep all information correct and up to date.

Education/Experience/Additional Requirements

  • 3+ years successful experience in sales, estimating, or project management role in the outdoor/home improvement spaces (ex. decks, pools, pergolas, patios, backyard living)
  • Working knowledge of the building materials industry and products
  • Design background or previous experience is a plus
  • Must demonstrate an extensive knowledge of reading building and architectural plans
  • Understand building codes and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable communicating in a virtual environment with end users
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM software (SalesForce, Zoho, etc.)
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or with a team to drive results
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Approximately less than 10% travel required
  • Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus
