The NMC Lead Truck Technician is responsible for overseeing the truck shop and providing workflow direction to truck shop technicians, as well as repairing and maintaining trucks serviced by NMC.  Responsible for maintaining the customer’s satisfaction by leading a customer-focused shop environment.  Removes, installs, repairs, disassembles, assembles, and performs failure analysis of all equipment including light, medium and heavy-duty truck, trailer and equipment repair.  The successful applicant must have (or acquire within 30 days of hire) CDL & DOT certifications.  Relocation benefit available if needed.


Essential & Primary Job Duties  


  • Coordinates with the Service Manger to manage workflow and productivity of the shop; ensures that company and customer operational standards are met.
  • Mentoring, training and development of truck shop technicians to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Works closely with Service Manager by providing critical support to the department to help grow the branch revenue and profit.
  • Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.
  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
  • Determines what services are required to repair the machine and performs failure analysis. Asks for assistance as needed in failure analysis and diagnosing problems for quality control.
  • Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
  • Installs injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, rod and main bearings, oil pans, clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, suspension and brakes, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
