Job Summary:

As a part of the Cloning team, the Research Associate is responsible for all aspects of DNA cloning projects involving digestion, ligation, and gel electrophoresis, also including organized record keeping and stock management

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Perform DNA cloning and molecular biology techniques such as digestion, ligation, PCR, gel electrophoresis, plasmid purification
  • Perform bacterial transformations, plating, and culturing of various volumes
  • Manage stocks of required consumables enabling cloning SOPs
  • Performing production procedures with limited supervision
  • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical operations
  • Perform other tasks as assigned that ensures sustainable 'first-time-right' performance
  • Follow verbal and written procedures in operating production equipment and performing processing steps; accurately complete appropriate production documentation
  • Perform routine tasks by following the SOPs
  • Gather and organize data; perform data analysis
  • Other responsibilities as required

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field
  • 0-2 years of experience with molecular biology/biochemistry, previous cloning experience preferred
