Our direct client in Financial Services is seeking a Sr. Cloud Architect:
Basic Qualifications of position:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering or a related study, or equivalent experience
§ At least ten years demonstrated experience in one, or a combination of the following of which 4 must be cloud-centric:
• Developing software according to software development lifecycles (SDLCs), including DevSecOps, Agile, Lean, Iterative, or Waterfall
• Designing, deploying, and migrating secure and maintainable systems for Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) environments
• DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and related best practices for cloud deployment
• Service offerings in Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or other Public Cloud provider
§ At least 5 years designing and building automated solutions for compute elasticity using cloud, virtualization, or service automation technologies, including server and serverless architectures
§ 10 + years of experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including systems architecture, network management, application development, middleware, data science or operations
§ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or closely related subject; an advanced degree is preferred
§ Strong leadership and team-building skills, and must be able to collaborate effectively with a group of high performing individuals
§ Experience creating frameworks and policy for the cloud:
• Fiscal Tracking/Chargeback
§ ITIL Certification
§ Excellent understanding of cloud federation technologies such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect and how to apply these technologies to enterprise and public-facing applications.
§ Excellent understanding of cloud information security risks and best practices, especially in a highly secure operating environment.
§ Excellent understanding of cloud vendor cost structures and the ability to optimize solutions for cost-effectiveness.
§ Excellent understanding of Secure Access to the Service Edge (SASE) architectures and micro-segmentation
§ Excellent understanding of Serverless Architecture and Data Fabric Computing
§ Excellent understanding of Data Security and Metadata Tracking
§ Experience with government cloud requirements for FedRAMP and FISMA
§ Experience as a team lead preferred
§ Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and VMWare enterprise implementations
§ Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes
§ Strong understanding of network architecture and application development methodologies
§ Strong understanding of service-oriented architectures, microservices, and client/server systems
§ Experience working in economic research or academic environment preferred
