Position Description
The Tactical Data Link (TDL) Systems Engineer will provide support for the Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) Support Services within the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) at Camp Pendleton, CA.
Responsibilities
- In accordance to system specific requirements, verify system compliance to the applicable joint service approved guidance and standards with consideration to system interfaces and capabilities.
- Perform interoperability and performance system assessment with consideration of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Manual (CJCSM) 6120.01 Joint Multi-Tactical Data Link Operating Procedures.
- With respect to all applicable interfaces and system architecture, verify performance of data exchanges through intermediary applications and/or radio terminal/modem devices IAW applicable interface control documents.
- Conduct root cause analysis in support of test and engineering events.
- Provide report of data collected IAW the MCTSSA data management plan.
- Annotate observations of execution or deviations to TDLs standards within the test procedure.
- Execute post-test analysis and reporting within the time frame allocated by the test plan and using the forms, technical writing style and structure requested for use by the test plan/test director. Provide data products and any follow up clarification within the time frame allocated.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (such as engineering, computer science, etc.). OR equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 12 years of experience conducting root cause analysis in support of test and engineering events.
- Previous work experience with MCTSSA is a plus.
- Experience verifying system compliance to joint service approved guidance and standards
- Experience performing interoperability and performance system assessments
- Familiarity with MIL-Std-6016/6020/6017/3011/6040, NATO improved Link Eleven (NILE), and CJCSM 6120.1.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and SharePoint
Travel Requirements
Travel may be required to OCONUS (Hawaii and Japan) and CONUS. CONUS travel forecast is approximately six (6) trips annually for five days per trip. OCONUS travel forecast is for three (3) trips annually, for 10 days per trip
