War Memorial Hospital located in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan is hiring a full-time LPN/Medical Assistant for the Physician Practices unit.

LPN/Medical Assistant Job Requirements: 

  • LPN license. 

  • Two years of medical office experience preferred. 

  • Knowledge of triage parameters preferred. 

  • Able to handle money, patient bills, and perform simple mathematical equations. 

  • Able to recognize potential problems and report items to office coordinator or physician. 

  • Must be able to transfer up to 125 pounds with assistance, while lifting, positioning, and transferring patients. 

LPN Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for assisting the physician and other staff so the office runs efficiently.  

  • Provide direct patient care services such as routine vital signs and gathers pertinent medical history. 

  • Educates and prepares the patient for office procedures and assists the doctor in the collection and preparation of specimens. 

  • Collect the appropriate informed consent forms and preparation of the surgical packet.  

  • Administer injections upon physician’s orders and notify patients of test results and the recommended plan of care.  

  • Maintain a basic knowledge of current medications associated with their field of practice. 

  • Make decisions to affect timely patient care in the absence of the physicians. 

 

 

Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
