    ​​Thompson is launching an evidenced-based program with proven results in Western and Central North Carolina. This program is known as Treatment Foster Care Oregon (TFCO). The two main goals of TFCO are to create opportunities for teens to successfully live in a family setting and to simultaneously help parents (or other long-term family resource) provide effective parenting. For more information visit, tfcoregon.com

    We are looking for adults/parents/families willing to be part of a short-term (6-9 months) successful in-home treatment for local teens (12-17 years old) dealing with behavioral and emotional issues.

    TFCO foster parents are unique. They are selfless, caring individuals, willing to give of themselves for the benefit of youth and society.

    The TFCO model depends on foster parents who envision a better life for youth and have the determination to help change the trajectory of the lives of these teens.

    TFCO needs more foster parents.

    You will have a multi-person clinical team on call to support you 24/7.

    No experience is necessary and we’ll provide all the training for free!


    Monthly stipend: $3,000 tax free

    Other benefits: Laptops and Routers provided, as needed.


    Minimum qualifications:

    ·       Meet the requirements to become a licensed foster parent in NC

    ·       Be at least 21 years old

    ·       Have a stable home and income

    ·       Maintain a drug free environment

    ·       Be willing to be fingerprinted and have a criminal records check

    ·       Complete all required training & be licensed by the state of North Carolina


    Preferred Qualifications:

    ·       Team player

    ·       Desire to mentor teens

    ·       Encouraging and supportive of others

    ·       Sense of humor
