Do you have a passion for photography and videography and desire to build experience in a newsroom? KERA’s newsroom audience development team is looking for a promising, energetic student-photojournalist to join our team for the spring. You will be exploring all things Dallas-Fort Worth with your camera and will have the opportunity to pitch impactful and multiplatform news stories. If you are digitally savvy and have innovative ideas about how to use visuals to tell stories, this is the role for you.

The role will work closely with our staff photojournalist and the newsroom audience development team to ensure the diversity of our community is represented in our visual journalism.

  • Take photos to help compliment breaking news, daily and feature stories, and highlight community events as assigned
  • Help capture photos and video of KERA journalists working behind the scenes
  • Participate in team meetings and meet regularly with their supervisor to discuss story ideas and get mentoring and professional development
  • Uphold and advance KERA’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

The internship will begin around January 19, 2022 and will continue through about April 2022.
