Terra Technologies LLC is a rapidly expanding company seeking a talented Field Engineer in the Portland, Oregon area. Terra Technologies is unique in that fact that it blends civil engineering with telecommunication engineering to provide design support for roadway projects impacting facilities of some of the largest Telecommunication companies in the nation.
Come join our team and enjoy a fulfilling career in the civil engineering and telecommunication field, coordinating utility conflicts on roadway projects while working with Departments of Transportation, municipalities, counties and other project sponsors to avoid relocating existing utilities by utilizing innovative conflict mitigation and alternative design techniques. Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Maintaining a detailed photo log
Measuring field distances using measuring wheel, tape, etc.
Measuring heights of attachments on utility poles utilizing height stick.
Create pole diagrams of existing conditions/attachments/anchors/brand, etc.
Lifting 50+ lbs.
Working outside in all-weather types
Walking for long periods and distances outside along highways/roads with traffic
Periodically working extended days (10-14 hours) depending on the project
5-10 years of telecom experience is highly preferred
Good communication skills
Able to manage a large number of projects, and have the ability to prioritize projects based on deadlines and importance.
Translating field measurements to design plans with accuracy
Drawing schematics of locates with stationing, field measurements, and existing landmarks shown
Utilizing locate equipment and other advanced survey tools
Using telephone test set/butt set verifying active service, dial tone, etc.
Civil Survey knowledge, ability to read civil plans, cross-sections, profiles for general understanding
Understanding and identifying cables in pedestals, SAI, coolpeds, handholes, manholes, etc.
Microsoft® Office programs
