A&M Communications, a Congruex Company Founded in 2017, A&M Communications (A&M) offers a suite of fully integrated telecommunications services for major wireless network carriers, tower operators, and telecommunications technology providers across the country. A&M’s core tower services are tower modification, new site development, tower decommissioning, and equipment modernization. They also offer underground trenching and installation of fiber optic. Job Summary: This position will be responsible for assisting the foreman in developing and planning complete site builds (as it pertains to the scope of work). Share ultimate responsibility for quality of SOW deliverable. Assist foreman in identifying change orders, obstacles, and safety concerns that may impede SOW timeline. Back up tower foreman when on the ground. Have a solid understanding of color coding, weatherproofing, grounding, etc. (as it pertains, to the SOW). Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Receive assignments and deploy to cell site locations to install, commission, and integrate UMTS & LTE equipment.
Working knowledge of OEM Base Station and Small Cell equipment including routers, switches, and power systems.
Integration and commissioning of smart integrated access devices and optical baseband interfaces
Hands-on experience with copper and fiber testing such as sweep testing, OTDR, and PIM testing
Skilled at troubleshooting issues from the edge to the core of a network
Upgrade BTS equipment to current software levels and install licenses. Create and load scripts using specialized management software.
May be required to provide support to troubleshoot system upon request of the customer
Responsible to pick-up OEM equipment from customer or company warehouse location and care for, scan and report on equipment disposition.
Complete and deliver site completion report within deadline.
Knowledgeable in cabling (RF installation, climbing, coax connectors, fiber testing experience, and other advanced technologies.
Understanding quality and safety procedures
Must understand rigging
Knowledge of and understanding the basic functions of test equipment
Test & turn-up experience preferred
Ability to represent company with professionalism.
Ability to work within maintenance window hours as scheduled based on project scope and adhere reliably to the schedule.
Must be able to read and interpret documents such as operating/maintenance/procedures instructions and safety rules.
Ability to travel within a region, market or out of market on a project basis.
Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather throughout the year.
Ability to use technical skills to work independently and within a team and execute responsibilities as well as solve problems.
Ability to utilize and care for company vehicle and expensive test equipment.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb a 12 ft ladder.
Computer and MS Office proficient
Valid driver’s license.
Basic hand tools
Associates Degree in electronics and communication engineering or related field preferred. High school diploma and equivalent related experience considered.
