Purchasing Manager

We are working with a rapidly growing global food technology company. This is a remote position that will create the purchase plan, guaranteeing the availability of materials for North America. This individual will be responsible for the design of strategies by category to optimize negotiations, the creation of the product roadmap, and must also create and apply purchasing policies, identify new partners and ensure innovation in the area. This role will report to the Operations Director.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Execute contracts with ingredient and packaging suppliers to maintain supply
  • Negotiate ingredient costs with key suppliers and reduce costs overall
  • Forecasting and reporting the COGS portion of the P&L
  • Closely monitoring ingredient inventory levels to determine appropriate order quantities
  • Build strong supplier relationships to ensure standards are continually met and improved upon
  • Supplier sourcing and scanning to meet specifications
  • Manage Purchasing coordinator

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • 4+ years experience in Procurement/Supply Chain
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business or an applicable field of study
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, SAP/NetSuite
  • Rigorous data-driven/analytical capability & ability and presence to present data effectively to a leadership team
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication, and organization
  • Possess strong presentation and relationship building skills
  • Curious, logical, and action-oriented
  • Passion for working in a fast-paced environment and a proven ability to multi-task
  • Excel in a start-up environment and excited to create new procedures and processes from scratch, with a strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • Be agile, adaptable, and thrive in a dynamic and changing culture
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. required
