Health Hero Florida is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to administer COVID and Flu Vaccines to Adults and Children (Ages K-12). We are seeking nurses who are eager to protect the community from vaccine preventable diseases by providing immunization services to all age groups throughout the state of Florida.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Administer Covid and/or Influenza vaccinations to patients in accordance with state regulation
  • Oversee entire patient experience, from check in to check out
  • Assist with clinic set up and breakdown
  • Transport of vaccine(s) and maintaining the cold chain
  • Proper biohazardous waste transport and disposal
  • Proper utilization of PPE
  • Actively contribute to a ‘team’ culture that promotes caring, energy, enthusiasm, and pride
Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Qualifications:
  • Licensure: an active Florida License
  • One (1) year of prior professional nursing experience preferred
  • Active BLS or CPR Card
  • Successfully complete a AHCA Fingerprint Level II Background Clearance
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License
  • Valid Auto Insurance Policy
  • Knowledge and understanding of the dosage, administration, age indications, precautions, contraindications and possible adverse reactions related to the vaccine being administered
  • Proficient in intramuscular injection technique
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to administer vaccinations properly
  • Comfortable working with all age groups (Children, adults, and seniors)
  • Ability to work in a dynamic work environment that adjusts based on community need
  • Willingness to communicate through text, email, phone calls and mobile apps
  • Ability to utilize critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail and high levels of organization
  • Expected to travel and stay overnight for a week at a time in neighboring counties if needed
  • Flexibility to work long days (up to 8-hour shifts)
  • Willing, if needed, to be tested for COVID-19
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and sufficiently move equipment without assistance

Classification: As a temporary employee, you will complete an I-9 form for employment eligibility in the U.S. that will be processed through E-Verify. You will also receive a W-2 at the end of the year for earned wages. Benefits are not included in this temporary position.
