Ceres is looking for and Industrial Engineer responsible for establishing controls and solutions to internal customers on manufacturing issues.  The Industrial Engineer will split work time between the shop floor and an office environment acting as the liaison between technicians and engineers.  You’ll ultimately improve processes to minimize downtime, increase cost accuracy, implement process efficiencies and standardization, improve safety, reduce costs & waste, and improve the quality of Ceres products.  At times, you’ll need to work with the procurement department to secure parts and equipment necessary for builds.

We’re looking for someone with a strong attention to detail who enjoys standardizing processes and creating efficiencies.  Experience with P&L and building materials is a plus.  Although a formal I.E. degree is not required, the successful applicant must have experience with MS AX.

  • Communicates production needs and concerns to management as needed. Gives advanced notice to manufacturing of any equipment or component concerns.  Requests and justifies capital investment needs in order to ensure continuous improvement. 
  • Acts as the design-for-manufacturability liaison between engineering and production.  Reviews design materials, processes and explores all opportunities to improve.  Monitors BOM accuracy prior to release of new products and ensures post-production changes are recorded.
  • Identifies training needs for new processes and explores innovative technology developments.  Assists in developing standardized work, including workstation design and ergonomic assessment.
  • Directs division’s inspection and quality control activities to meet specification and quality standards. Provides QA oversight to all phases of internal production to ensure standards are met prior to dispatch.
  • Identifies training needs for new processes and explores innovative technology developments.  Trains new employees on standard processes.
  • Develop and modify management control systems for quality, material flow and costing. Suggest changes in standards, test equipment and gauges to facilitate work and maintain quality. Establishes systems and processes to ensure that products are built efficiently, tested thoroughly and effectively.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and provides engineering expertise during product change process.  Uses prior experience, knowledge, known issues, technical guides and/or external resources to determine financial impact of change requested. Provides customers with clear, concise and timely recommendations and direction.
  • Establishes metrics and visuals to ensure production is operating at full potential.  Identifies bottlenecks and recommends areas for improvement.  Ability to lead kaizen teams and maximize results. 
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information to understand methods and activities in manufacturing and services.
  • Participates in and occasionally leads manufacturing enhancements through continuous improvement effort teams. 
  • Periodically reviews cost of manufacturing and provides guidance and recommendations on quoting tools for accuracy.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.
