Sr. Logistics and Customer Service Manager                                                          

We are looking for a logistics and customer service professional for a growing food company in Manhattan. This position will lead the warehousing and transportation function as well as their customer service and inventory management. Must have a solid understanding of transportation, short shelf life, inventory management, customer service and how to streamline these functions in a sustainable way.


Location: Hybrid role, must commute to their NYC office 2/3 days a week.


Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead development of company logistics and physical transportation strategy, process architecture and performance metrics to maximize business value; drive optimal network efficiency and deliver sustainable competitive advantage
  • Lead an integrated logistics management function that will direct and organize distribution, transportation, warehousing, and logistics policies for products from the point of manufacture through delivery at customer facilities
  • Financial management responsibility for our network of warehouses and transportation spend
  • Lead customer service team, helping to ensure best in class support to our customers, both internal & external
  • Partner with our commercial functions to provide key support for customer analysis
  • Develop a robust inventory and order management function that will ensure our inventory is tracked and reconciled throughout the supply chain
  • Partner with finance to develop forward looking inventory analytics including identifying aging risk, DOH analysis, inventory working capital analysis, and other financial metrics

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • 5+ years of progressive logistics and customer service experience in the CPG space
  • Solid work experience with wide variety of systems, including ERP, TMS, WMS, EDI, YMS
  • Experience in leading a team of professional in the customer service/inventory management and transportation/warehousing areas
  • Experience working with chilled product, including managing products with very short shelf lives
  • Experience working with senior management on strategy development
  • Experience creating and owning logistics budget, including all freight, and warehousing spend
