We are a full-service industrial, institutional and commercial mechanical contracting company searching for a Payroll Coordinator. ​​The Payroll Coordinator will accurately issue union pay to employees by collecting and entering employees time and payroll data into COINS and ensure the accuracy of earnings and deductions in accordance with established practices and guidelines.  This position will support two companies and four divisions.  Experience with multiple union payroll, prevailing wage, certified payroll, and fringe benefits is required. Excellent overall computer skills, including accounting program experience and Microsoft Office.  Intermediate to advanced Excel is required.

Job Duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for all union payroll for two companies and four divisions
  • Process all union payroll weekly in our ERP accounting system for approximately 120 union employees. This includes processing paper checks and direct deposit.
  • Responsible for knowing all the various union requirements for portability, traveling union members, national service agreement, etc.
  • Verify prevailing wage calculations on applicable jobs.  Compute wages and deductions and enter data into payroll system.
  • Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases.
  • Prepare all certified payroll reports through our system and manually prepare state forms in Excel. Upload to LCP Tracker program.
  • Prepare all fringe benefit reports, reconciliations and submit payments both via portals and paper checks.
  • Set up new union employees in our accounting system.
  • Request and maintain all apprentice agreements from the various union locals.
  • Respond to all union audit requests.
  • Work with the various union locals to obtain information as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) - Required
  • Associates Degree or other 2-year degree - Preferred. 
  • 2-3 years previous payroll experience preferably with union payroll experience - Required
  • Experience with multiple union payroll, prevailing and fringe benefits – Required
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and accounting program experience – Required
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel - Required
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Organized with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Personal computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Office
