Plant Manager

We are working with a rapidly growing food tech company that is looking for a Plant Manager who will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing the overall plant operations. This individual will oversee daily operations including processing, packaging, and supply chain functions.
Location: Cleveland, OH

Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Ensure plant safety through compliance with OSHA regulations and guidance from the company safety committee.
  • Manage cost for manufacturing, including components such as package material, raw ingredients, fixed and variable labor, quality, efficiency, reliability, scrap, rework, energy, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance
  • Supplement, track, and be accountable for mutually agreed upon KPIs
  • Accomplish compliance for product quality, food safety, and food defense as issued by the QC Department while maintaining overall plant efficiency
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to the product, process, or the quality system and recommend or provide solutions to correct any deficiencies with collaborative support from the QC department
  • Manage materials, packaging, and raw materials such that all materials are available to meet scheduling requirements on a timely basis by working closely with purchasing and inventory manager
  • Manage and build relationships with key vendors and cop-packers.
  • Schedule and conduct plant meetings with all plant employees and production staff on a regular basis
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure compliance with policies and understanding of profit and loss of plant operations
  • Partner with QC for compliance of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance of plant

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
 
  • High school diploma, 4-year degree preferred
  • 10+ years’ experience preferably in a food processing or related industry with plant management experience
  • Knowledge of business and management principles i.e. budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources.
  • Knowledge of food safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory, and supervision processes
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques – green belt or black belt a plus
  • Computer skills including MS Office
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-growth high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage conflict, and adapt to rapid change
  • Innovative and creative thinker
