Logistics Coordinator

We are working with a rapidly growing plant-based food company that is looking for a Logistics Coordinator who be responsible for managing all movements, costs, relationships, and budgets relating to the freight and storage of finished goods across North America. This individual will report to the Director of Operations.

Location: NYC.  This is a hybrid role that requires an on-site presence at the headquarter location 2-3 times per week.

Job Responsibilities:
 
  • Manage and optimize out-bound freight
  • Evaluate efficiencies and cost savings opportunities
  • Oversee the activities of multiple 3PL carriers to ensure on time delivery from warehouse(s) to distributors
  • Build and maintain relationships with storage and freight vendors
  • Serve as key point of contact for warehouse and carrier account management
  • Develop procedures (SOP) within the supply chain team to identify opportunities that will help increase efficiency and reduce redundancy
  • Manage and analyze all KPI’s and service metrics that are related to outbound freight, storage, and warehouse performance with weekly, monthly reports
  • Tender and track all shipments and receive all POD’s
  • Audit vendor costs and activity ensuring adherence to contract and rates
  • Receive/process weekly customer orders, troubleshoot and resolve any order issues
  • Monitor project timelines through completion
  • Help develop logistics team strategy and budget

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
 
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or an applicable field of study is required
  • Must have 4+ years’ experience in Supply Chain and Operations (food and beverage experience preferred)
  • Experience in a start-up/fast moving/fast growing environment is ideal
  • Must be a problem solver, have a general manager mindset and take the initiative to get the job done.  Possess strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship building skills.  Have excellent presentation and influencing skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an open and cross-functional environment.
  • Strong planning, project management, and execution skills and the ability to articulate where and how you have used them is desirable
  • A natural leader who works well in teams and cross-functional groups in a matrixed environment both regionally and globally is fundamental
  • Must have rigorous data driven/analytical capability, as well as ability and presence to present data effectively to a leadership team
  • Strong computer skills, including a high level of proficiency in Excel and MS Office is imperative
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. required
