Sr. National Account Manager – Alternative Channels & Food Service

Are you looking for a newly created food service/alternative channels sales role in the natural industry? This position may be for you! We are working with a keto friendly food manufacturer that needs a sales driver to find new customers and channels outside of traditional supermarkets and natural retailers.

Location: Remote

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build & maintains strong relationships with key accounts in trade channels outside of traditional supermarkets and natural retailers
  • Identifies opportunities and works with operations, marketing, and finance to develop product, format, pricing and promotion scenarios that result in sustainable new business. Coordinates with retail Sales team as necessary
  • Determines optimal path to market as well as any required supporting resources
  • Manages businesses once established to ensure that objectives are achieved. Provides updates and recommends corrective action as needed
  • Depending on the ability, performance and goals of the incumbent, this position could flow through to field sales, marketing or other functional areas
  • Understands consumer and customer insights that can develop into go to market plans (including sales/trade communication, selling strategy & materials)
  • Proactively identify whitespace opportunities as an input to the business development process
  • Support the VP of Sales in developing an annual plan that align with the efforts of sales & marketing to generate optimal demand for the business
  • Communicate with senior management about sales initiatives and project metrics, as well as analyze performance metrics to grow sales and profitability on an on going basis
  • Reports to the VP of Sales


Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • Experience in sales with alterative channels & food service channels IS A MUST  
  • 5-7 years of sales experience in a CPG Food environment
  • C-store experience is helpful
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Must posses strong cognitive, problem solving, and analytical skills complemented by excellent oral and written communication
  • Strong organizational skills and the adaptability to succeed in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment with multifaceted and changing responsibilities are required
  • Must be tactful, flexible, and able to develop and maintain productive working relationships with individuals of highly diverse personalities
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with a geographically dispersed team
  • Cross functional team player
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Analytical; leverages data, insights and analytics to inform strategies and recommendations
  • Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication skills for compelling business storytelling
