Job Summary: The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the sourcing, bidding and on-boarding of vendors, and interacting with sub-contractors and material suppliers for the company. Responsible for coordinating the RFP, RFQ & RFI processes with selected vendors. Will work cross-functionally with PMO and Project Controls to ensure proper flow of data.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Build vendor relationships to secure the best prices on products
Manage the relationship cycle with vendors
Actively partner with internal teams and stakeholders to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and quality
Purchase goods or services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization
Lead improvement for on time/quality performance, settle vendor disputes, and build alliances and relationships with strategic vendors
Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors
Track inventory and restock goods when needed
Stay up to date on industry trends and new products
Compare available goods with industry trends to determine appropriate pricing
Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of goods
Create purchase orders and tally these with supply requests and orders
Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered
Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of goods remains positive
Work closely with the projects team to understand details of procurement requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications: General
Strong knowledge of the telecommunications industry and market conditions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding negotiation and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and rapport building
Flexible to work hours as demanded by projects (evening, weekend, and/or overtime hours)
Ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals
Experience managing supplier relationships for an assigned set of products and/or services including regular supplier performance reviews and discussions
Process management and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment; self-motivated
Ability to process large amounts of often complex data, detail oriented
Able to navigate a fast-paced environment with working with remote teams
Excellent time management skills
Able to travel to meet vendors and suppliers as necessary
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office experience, intermediate in Excel
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business, logistics, supply management, or related field preferred
Strong telecommunications industry knowledge
