Position Description 

The Research Analyst V will support the creation of a Joint Intermediate Force Capabilities Office (JIFCO) Government Analytical Tool (JAT), using Microsoft (MS) Power Bi to present Government Leadership with financial obligations and expenditures. The JAT will enable JIFCO leadership to view data and make expeditious decisions (e.g., including pictorial graphics such as stop-light charts, graphs, and financial displays) and provide useful forms, briefs, and business templates to improve JIFCO operations. All deliverables must be compatible with Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services and must only use MS tools and software and CEREBRUS.  



  • Utilize analytical tools using Microsoft (MS) Power Bi to present Government Leadership with financial obligations and expenditures 

  • Perform financial research 

  • Create direct channels of communication to software and application developers with minimal oversight 

  • Identify business trends utilizing real data 

  • Compile analysis reports for delivery to developers, and follow up on results 

  • Implement a comprehensive management plan for each project  

  • Hold regular stakeholder meetings to keep all stakeholders updated on project progress 

  • Determine and document user requirements for business processes and follow those requirements for future projects.  

  • Provide analytics to enable the Government to view data and make expeditious decisions (e.g., stop-light charts, graphs, and financial displays) 

  • Provide useful forms, briefs, and business templates to improve Government operations   

  • Develop plans, train, and test Government personnel on these analytical tool 

  • Create a Government Analytical Dashboard which incorporates all forms, templates, briefs, phasing plans, reports, and all other aspects of the Government Analytical Tool 

  • Other duties as assigned 


Education and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field (Master’s Degree preferred) and fifteen to twenty years of financial experience  

  • Three years of experience with Microsoft Office Tools, with at least one year leading a project of similar scope 

  • One year of experience with Microsoft Power Bi 

  • Appropriate MS Office certifications, knowledge, and experience including Power Bi 

  • Working knowledge of Adobe products and experience creating dynamic writable forms 

  • Experience supporting United States Government organizations.
