The CNS Controller will plan and direct the accounting operations of the CNS Operating Unit.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to): Note - Role will be dedicated to the CNS Operating Unit and will have heavy coordination with a centralized Finance and Accounting team.
Oversees monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting, budgeting and accounting close processes and coordinates the preparation of financial statements and filings in compliance with GAAP.
Oversees the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities for the organization including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies, development and monitoring of budgets
Ensures adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits.
Oversees the yearly budget preparation and variance analysis of actual performance to budget.
Oversees re-forecasts of budget as necessary and variance analysis of actual performance to re-forecast.
Conducts ad hoc analyses of the organization’s finances and presents findings to executive leadership for decision making and planning.
Build a team of Accountants, Accounts Payable Managers, Accounts Receivable Managers and other roles as needed.
Train and manage staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
Oversees all purchasing and payroll activity for staff and participants.
Performs ad hoc Controller duties and projects as assigned.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years experience in the construction or telecom industry.
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
Ten years or more of related experience required.
Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.
