We are working with a Certified B Corporation and industry leader in the frozen treats space.  In the last 25 years, this company has brought some of the first ready-to-eat ingredients to commercialization. 

We are seeking an Operations Supervisor. This individual will supervise daily production for the third shift, ensuring resources and systems are available to the team, to meet or exceed the daily production schedule.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, this person will utilize continuous improvement to ensure production of high-quality product, as well as a safe, efficient, and positive work environment.   

Location: Burlington, VT

Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the daily coordination of people, product, and processes to meet or exceed production output targets and expense targets
  • Work directly with Operations Manager and other department supervisors to ensure interdepartmental communication and coordination
  • Develop team leaders and direct staff to identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen line processes
  • Supervise production workers and team leaders; to include communicating with team members, providing feedback, mentoring, performance evaluations, and enforcement of guidelines/rules
  • Continuously evaluate, monitor, and update the production training program to ensure timely training of a highly skilled and knowledgeable production workforce
  • Ensure that QA standards and GMPs are implemented and met, and that associated training takes place
  • Monitor and adjust process lines for maximum effectiveness
  • Responsible for reviewing and providing action plans to resolve incident report non-conformances that are generating on a specific shift
  • Ensure appropriate production coordination and participation in R&D experiments and product development processes, including ramp-ups, upscales, and trial runs
  • Provide support and leadership expertise for all internal and external audits
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments: exchange information, coordinate activities, investigate and solve problems
  • Prepare various administrative reports; clearly document personnel and product incidents and follow up; maintain all required forms and records; respond promptly to written correspondence and email.

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 2-4 years of experience, or a combination of education and experience; broad base of knowledge and skills related to manufacturing food and production processes
  • Basic planning, administrative, and personnel management skills
  • Strong leadership skills – organization, preparedness, communication, problem-solving, decision-making
  • Ability to give, receive, and act on feedback; responsibly express opinions, make requests
  • Ability to convey and receive information in writing and verbally to achieve intended results
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, and noisy (up to 90 dba) work environment
  • Occasional off-shift support and regular weekend work is required
  • Infrequent travel
