We are working with a fast-growing food company at the forefront of transforming the way leafy greens are grown and distributed in the U.S. This company currently operates multiple areas of production in the Northeast and Midwest and is in the process building new hubs and continuously improving existing growing facilities.

The VP of Project Management/Strategy will lead the PMO teams which consists of a team of professionals that are tasked with overseeing a complex portfolio of projects for an organization dedicated to continuous improvement. This role will also oversee future new farm startups along with the Business Operations team focusing on data and KPI’s. Must have proven experience delivering on a diverse portfolio including new builds and operations projects aligned with organization’s goals and strategies. The VP of PM/Strategy will collaborate with the Ops Leadership Team and cross-functional stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Location: East Coast, must be able to come onsite to White Plains, NY occasionally

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to the project management office team and coordinates their deployment on projects
  • Partners with management to ensure the overall company targets are being met, objectively evaluating progress and providing early identification of challenges and obstacles
  • Drives the team to provide consistently high-level project execution, progress monitoring and reporting, project communication and implementation of corrective actions as necessary
  • Continuously develops implements and improves project management and tracking structure to establish consistent and standard project management policies and guidelines for overall project organization
  • Execute regular reporting to senior leaders and stakeholders
  • Define and embed project control and governance
  • Provide project planning, milestone management, scope management, resource forecasting
  • Continuously improve, streamline, and/or eliminates excess process, drive efficiencies, and create standardizations of work where needed
  • Oversee the development of project tracking and KPI dashboards and tools to support project manager, farm KPIs, including scope, budget and resources
  • Train, coach, and set expectations for all PMs to improve project management capabilities of the site
  • Establish the pathways for escalation of program and project issues within the organization to provide the right level of awareness and decision-making

Required Skills/Qualifications:  
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • PMP or Agile Certification
  • Must be located on the East Coast or Midwest already
  • Must have experience in project management in the food manufacturing industry
  • Track record of success in management and senior leadership with a minimum of five years of experience in project management with experience coordinating cross functional groups and/or multidisciplinary project teams
  • Demonstrates understanding of financial analytics and data
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with effective interpersonal skills to influence and guide solutions
  • Demonstrates understanding of best practice workflow processes and change management
  • Ability to consistently execute and manage exceptional work
  • A sense of urgency to drive change paired with patience and flexibility to understand that all demands are equal
  • Strong complex problem-solving skills
  • Detailed oriented and organized individual with team facilitation skills
  • Proven experience owning complex projects and end to end delivery across multiple workstreams
  • Strong influencer and excellent relationship builder
