We are currently searching for a Boiler Technician that will safely troubleshoot and repair industrial and commercial Boilers, and associated burner/controls systems. Boiler Technicians will troubleshoot, service, repair, retrofit and make recommendations as needed to return customer boilers, burners and controls to fully functioning condition. This is a field position that will work primarily at customer locations within a 90-mile radius of Macon, GA. Maintenance Technicians will be required to work overtime as needed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:- Troubleshoot, service, repair variable speed drives, control valves, actuators, loop controllers, motors and industrial PLC’s
- Troubleshoot, service, repair pumps and piping systems
- Accountable for the completion of internal and external inspections of boilers, burners, and associated controls that determine function ability and service life
- Repair and/or replace refractory, gaskets, parts and miscellaneous controls
- Perform hydrostatic testing of boilers, troubleshooting and repair of industrial burners
- Evaluate basic boiler room systems (stem and hydronic), gather information and help solve problems
- Respond to service calls and finish assigned jobs to completion
- Work with limited supervision much of the time
- Participate with “on-call” service rotation
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED), required
- Two years of technical school, community college, or trade school
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience troubleshooting and servicing boilers in a commercial and industrial environment
- Hands on ability for combustion set up and analysis as well as troubleshooting skills to determine and adjust full range of burners from .5 to 30 Million BTU/HR input
- Experience with Low Emission Burners and related equipment is a plus, but not a requirement
- Must have very strong reasoning and problem solving skills
- Must have great communication skills and the ability to work in a team atmosphere, and communicate effectively with customers and other office staff
- Strong language skills as well as industry specific vocabulary is necessary
- Must be detail oriented in completing work orders, all required forms, summaries and checklist daily or as required in procedures manuals
- Valid Driver’s License, clean MVR, ability to travel within the region as needed
- Experience with the following brands: Cleaver Brooks, Superior, Nebraska Boiler, Johnston, Hurst, Fulton, Powerflame, Todd, Coen, Industrial Combustion, Natcom, etc.
