Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist performs body imaging/scans for patients as requested by the provider; which results in the production of quality images for diagnostic interpretation.  The MRI technologist must be able to effectively utilize all imaging capabilities of the MRI scanner.  The technologist is responsible for maintaining high-quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze patient histories and complete screenings for pacemakers and injuries where metal objects are involved
  • Address patients’ concerns and ensure that they are comfortable and calm during scans
  • Performing regular inspections of the MRI equipment and machines and schedule maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Position the patients and complete MRI scans according to the physicians' specifications
  • Ensure that the MRI rooms are kept clean, tidy, and safe
  • Write reports and escalate any problems to the Director of Imaging
  • Deliver quality assurance procedures and suggest improvements as needed
Qualifications:
 
  • Registered MRI Technologist by ARRT
  • One (1) year of experience in diagnostic radiology is preferred
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other health care providers in the provision of patient care
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner at all times
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
  • Must be able to always maintain confidentiality
