BrightFarms is at the forefront of transforming the supply chain for leafy greens in the United States. The Company currently operates 16 acres of production through 6 farms in the northeast and Midwest and is building 5 new regional hubs that will increase the Company’s production by 60 acres over the next 2 years. Our supply chain is driven by fanatical customer service. We are looking for an experienced, dedicated, self-motivated individual who will lead, manage, and execute the Raw Ingredient Sourcing activities with the suppliers and operations team for uninterrupted daily operations.

The Sourcing Manager role is responsible for procuring all Direct materials including Packaging, Seeds, Grow Media, Fertilizers, etc. utilizing numerous procurement principles such as: lead supplier negotiations, provide financial analysis, create supplier and material strategies, and be the primary link between the various cross functional teams.
The role reports into the Director of Procurement.

  • Responsible for the end-to-end Procurement strategy. Including Supplier Strategy, Material Strategy, and Operational improvements
  • Build 3rd Party knowledge pertaining industry items and continue to develop current relationships
  • Collaborate with other companies under the portfolio of BrightFarms Parent company and optimize sourcing practices
  • Develop vendor partnerships and negotiate new contracts, renewals, pricing, NDA’s, amendments, etc. with inputs from Procurement and Supply Chain teams
  • Create Material Cost Models on key materials and track commodity indexes
  • Work with Greenhouses and Supply Chain teams to continuously improve vendor performance through management KPIs
  • Responsible to forecast Pricing and create annual Budgets
  • Develop supply resilience plan through VMI, alternate approved suppliers, etc.
  • The scope of this role may change as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 7+ years of relevant Procurement experience in FMCG / CPG manufacturing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Great organizational and interpersonal skills to manage internal stakeholders, project management, and vendors
  • Proven track record with Vendor Management, Cost Models, and Operational Organization
  • Ability to collect and analyze information from multiple sources and prepare spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and present recommendations
  • Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret general industry documentation
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision, self-starter

Location: Hybrid role with Irvington, NY Office base. (Potential of travel up to 10% of the time)
