About the Position:
National Grid Renewable’s Procurement team is seeking a summer 2023 Sourcing Specialist Intern. This role will expand on the student's current academic qualification and working experiences, introduce them to the procurement workflows and have them support sourcing activities in the changing business environment. It will challenge their analytical and management skills, and grow their ability to perform well in a complicated business world. This individual will learn fast in a changing and growing company and will take away “real world experience” as well as a better understanding of supply chain in the renewable energy industry.



What you will actually do - 
Support procurement manager to
  • facilitate RFP / RFQ /RFI and track deliverables
  • review documents for clarity and accuracy
  • manage approval workflow of RFP, budget, contracts, purchase orders
  • track deliverables with internal and external stakeholders during bid evaluation, contract negotiation and execution
  • maintain electronic contract / document database, ensuring appropriate documentation is filed and current at all times 

Upon guidance by procurement manager to
  • communicate with supplier regarding delivery schedule, technical specification, change orders, etc. under procurement manager’s guidance
  • coordinate with project team and contractors/suppliers to ensure all deliverables are met prior to payment 
  • work with accounting to resolve payment discrepancies and issues 
  • provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends

Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you bring to the role -  
Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong verbal and written communication skills 
Strong attention to detail 
A highly motivated, focused and positive attitude 
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Team player with strong organizational skills.
