Position Description
The Senior Director of Business Development and Capture Management will be responsible for increasing company revenue by identifying and developing new business opportunities as well as expanding brand presence. They will lead cross-functional teams, manage existing partnerships, and evaluate company business goals. They will play a strategic and active role in expanding the business by recommending ways to improve operations planning, attending meetings with clients and advisors, and notifying partners of key business developments. They will leverage competitive information to develop a clear path to win proposal efforts and work to identify strong teaming partners and negotiate value-driven teaming agreements. The efforts of this position will support LH and subsidiaries business strategies and needs.

The selected candidate will be detail-oriented and have the ability to assess business risks by analyzing financial, statistical, and economic data. They will be persuasive, have a strong business acumen and skilled at negotiating sound business deals as well as demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Leading both a direct and matrixed capture organization
  • Stakeholder management and keeping the senior leadership informed and engaged
  • Facilitating the development of bid strategy, proposal strategies, competitive analysis, and position-to-win for both priority programs and new opportunities
  • Establish an enterprise Business Acquisition Process (BAP) activity with corporate leadership
  • Mentoring capture teams in required people, process, and tools for successful captures
  • Ensuring the capture team personnel are aligned with the future vision for the business(s)
  • Integrating solutions from leadership to enable architecting of winning strategies
  • Support the development of comprehensive customer engagement campaigns aligned to targeted business opportunities
  • Identifying and developing approaches to mitigate risks associated with business pursuits
  • Analyzing and sharing business intelligence and developments relevant to business pursuits
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of modern capture management requirements and processes
  • Collaborating across the company to recommend and justify company investment and win new business
  • Driving collaboration with Sector Presidents, corporate and functional leadership to develop compelling and compliant proposals
  • Developing and managing strategic partnerships to grow business
  • Manage, enhance and maintain company partner database
  • Contribute to attainment of professional and corporate certifications for competitiveness and business development advantage
  • Manage and execute proposal development through submittal of proposals and solicitations
 
  • Attend expos and events to expand company growth and develop potential partnerships

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field
*An additional five years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree
  • Ten years of proven business development experience within the government industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal sector contractors and the competitive landscape
  • Some experience with an 8(a) organization preferred
  • Experience with delivering compliant, professionally produced proposals within strict timelines
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong business acumen
  • Detail-oriented and persuasive

Security Clearance Requirements
This position requires a Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements
Travel is anticipated to be approximately 25-30% within the Continental United States. Some international travel may be required.
