SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Energy Storage Engineer will assist in all engineering efforts for all energy storage projects for the Company, including projects in early development all the way through construction. In addition, they will interact with utilities and RTO/ISOs that NG Renewables is interconnecting with to understand specifications, standards, and scopes of work. The Energy Storage Engineer will assist senior engineers to ensure that all Energy Storage projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformity with the National Grid Renewables’ established policies and objectives while incorporating all functions related to safety, testing, repair, and maintenance of all equipment used within the owned assets.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING- Managing Energy Storage engineering projects end-to-end
- Oversee review of the preliminary engineering design.
- Communicate regularly with all personnel to ensure satisfaction of internal/external customer requirements.
- Participate in business unit improvement initiatives.
- Manage internal and external engineering resources in the early development of ESS designs.
- Facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with contractors and engineering department during all phases of the bidding, analysis and estimating processes.
- Facilitate and maintain effective working relationships with energy storage suppliers during all phases of the bidding, analysis, and contract negotiation processes.
- Support construction phase project teams through pre-construction activities
- Support construction teams in resolving design and or constructability challenges during construction.
- Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards.
- Contribute to development and maintenance of design standards and criteria for project infrastructure.
- Oversee quality aspects of engineering and construction, including ensuring compliance with design standards and accuracy of final documentation and test data.
- Manage and provide oversight of external professionals who provide technical expertise and project support through design, construction, and operations.
- Provide technical support to plant operations as may be required for project infrastructure, facilities, and systems.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THIS ROLE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Preference for experience in energy storage.
- Entry level candidates will be considered.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency using personal computer tools such as MS Office, Word, Excel, NetSuite, Visio, CAD, PROCORE, and database managements systems.
- Experience working with large, regulated utilities or RTO/ISOs is a plus.
