National Grid Renewables is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our growing IT Operations Team. This role will provide the technical knowledge necessary to drive forward our organization's cloud-based infrastructure initiatives as we align our processes and technologies.

Role
  • Review and validate business critical data as it is collected
  • Oversee the deployment of data to the Microsoft Azure Datalake
  • Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata
  • Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements
  • Develop policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data
  • Collaborate with IT for data mapping and integration via Microsoft Azure to leverage big data use cases
  • Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
  • Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports
  • Analyze business processes and requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
  • Identify development needs to improve streamline operations
  • Create reports for business stakeholders using tools such as Microsoft Power BI
  • Monitor analytics and metrics results
  • Implement new data analysis methodologies
  • Review organizational data to ensure integrity of data collection and utilization
  • Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies
  • Collaborate with business users
  • Training end-users on new reports and dashboards



Background and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Management/Computer Information Systems (MIS/CIS), Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • 5+ years as a Data Analyst
  • Ability to build strong data models and relational databases
  • Strong data mining techniques
  • SQL experience
  • Power Query, PowerBI and data visualization
  • Strong understanding Datalakes
  • Strong understanding of Databricks
  • Database management and reporting
  • Business administration
  • Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving
  • Strong Communication skills
