National Grid Renewables is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our growing IT Operations Team. This role will provide the technical knowledge necessary to drive forward our organization's cloud-based infrastructure initiatives as we align our processes and technologies.
Role- Review and validate business critical data as it is collected
- Oversee the deployment of data to the Microsoft Azure Datalake
- Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata
- Supporting the data warehouse in identifying and revising reporting requirements
- Develop policies and procedures for the collection and analysis of data
- Collaborate with IT for data mapping and integration via Microsoft Azure to leverage big data use cases
- Providing technical expertise in data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing
- Troubleshooting the reporting database environment and reports
- Analyze business processes and requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and strategies with technology solutions
- Identify development needs to improve streamline operations
- Create reports for business stakeholders using tools such as Microsoft Power BI
- Monitor analytics and metrics results
- Implement new data analysis methodologies
- Review organizational data to ensure integrity of data collection and utilization
- Perform data profiling to identify and understand anomalies
- Collaborate with business users
- Training end-users on new reports and dashboards
Background and Skills- Bachelor's degree in Management/Computer Information Systems (MIS/CIS), Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 5+ years as a Data Analyst
- Ability to build strong data models and relational databases
- Strong data mining techniques
- SQL experience
- Power Query, PowerBI and data visualization
- Strong understanding Datalakes
- Strong understanding of Databricks
- Database management and reporting
- Business administration
- Microsoft Office and Excel

- Strong Communication skills
