Metrologist 1st shift 

accupac is hiring for a full-time Metrololgist is join our 1st shift in Lakewood, NJ 

Metrologist Basic Job Functions. 

The Metrologist will perform all activities necessary to operate and maintain chemical analysis in the Quality Control Analytical Lab. This individual will work to carry out technical tasks and support production operations; perform routine and non-routine chemical testing of raw materials, bulk products, finished goods, environmental samples, validation samples, and stability samples; and evaluate and implement new chemical analysis procedures. The Metrologist will execute the development, qualification, verification, validation, and transfer of analytical testing methods. Write technical documents such as Test Methods, SOPs, Protocols, and reports. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, calibrating, servicing, and maintaining equipment for our fast-paced Quality Control Laboratory. 

The Metrologist will work to resolve problems with instruments, test methods, lab chemicals, standards, and samples independently and then present findings to Management. In addition, ensure calibrations, standards, log books, and other GMP compliance activities are performed in the laboratory, including writing and executing method validations, protocols, and reports. This individual will coordinate validation projects, ensure all validation documentation is finalized and current and must understand the purpose and objective of the method transfers and protocols. This role will review and evaluate new and revised customer test methods. The Metrologist will maintain all notebooks, assay reports, log books, and other documentation is in accordance with cGMP standards. 

Metrologist Essential Functions: 

• Perform testing to evaluate new or non-routine chemical test procedures or to evaluate/validate equipment.  

• Oversee and participate in method validations and technical transfers with minimal support from Manager. 

• Works independently, prioritizing project/work goals to achieve business needs. Develop unique approaches to resolve problems. Work with the customer when needed.  

• Performs calibration, troubleshooting, PM, IO/OQ/PQ, and resolution of instrument issues for laboratory equipment in the Analytical Lab. 

• Knowledge of how to use but is not limited to HPLC, GC, IC, UV/VIS, FTIR, Viscometers, and lab ovens. 

• Specify and request the purchase of parts and components for lab instruments.  

• Prepare SOPs for maintenance, operation, and calibration of laboratory instrumentation and equipment, including instrument audits.  

• Metrologist Position Requirements: 

• Possess a technical degree with strong chemistry background. 

• 3 to 5 years experience in an FDA-regulated industry. Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred. 

• Ability to climb step stools and maintain balance. 

• Ability to lift/carry items up to 40 pounds. 

• Ability to push/pull items up to 75 pounds. 

• Ability to hear phones ringing, alarms through ambient noise, and everyday conversation. 

• Possess color vision.
