Machinist, Full Time.

accupac is hiring a full-time Machinist to join our 1st shift team at our Mainland Location.  

Machinist Basic Job Functions: 

The Machinist will apply metal cutting theory, personal experience, and related knowledge such as shop mathematics, properties of materials, and proper use of metal cutting and hand tools to accomplish various machining functions. In addition, this individual will be responsible for the appropriate usage and maintenance of the machine tools. 

The Machinist will work to read and understand blueprints and engineering sketches and make close tolerance parts per prints, sketches, samples, or verbal instructions. This role will ensure that tasks are performed to tolerances of less than ".0005" for grinding, lathe work to tolerances of ".002" or less, and milling machine work to tolerances of ".002" or less. This individual will weld or silver solder parts as necessary, including applying metal cutting theory and related knowledge to accomplish various machining functions; and use metal cutting and hand tools to achieve a variety of machining functions. The Machinist will order parts and supplies for the machine shop as needed, support and participate in engineering and maintenance improvement projects, and work to support the safety program and company production goals. 

Machinist Essential Functions: 

• Maintain machine tools 

• Maintain clean and orderly shop 

• Participate in special projects and assignments as required and needed 

• Perform all other duties as assigned. 

• Be a team player and team member 

• Able to understand clear instructions, safety PPE & GMP requirements 

• Possess proficiency in verbal and written English 

Machinist Position Requirements: 

• Possess a trade school or equivalent machine shop experience 

• High School Diploma or GED 

• Able to read and modify blueprints 

• Possess required personal hand tools 

• Possess experience in all metalworking equipment 

• Able to climb step stools and maintain balance. 

• Able to lift/carry and push/pull items up to 50 pounds. 

• Able to hear phones ringing, the alarm sounds through the ambient noise, and everyday conversation.
