The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for supporting National Grid Renewables’ procurement activities. Experience should include: equipment/O&M/EPC procurement process management, systems and analytics, supplier relationship management, commercial negotiations, equipment/O&M/EPC supplier development and a clear, working knowledge of current industry trends.

  
Procurement processes management
 
  • Facilitate RFP / RFQ /RFI and track deliverables
  • Review documents for clarity and accuracy
  • Manage approval workflow of RFP, budget, contracts, purchase orders
  • Support procurement manager to track deliverables with internal and external stakeholders during bid evaluation, contract negotiation and execution
  • Communicate with supplier regarding delivery schedule, technical specification, change orders, etc.
  • Coordinate with project team and contractors/suppliers to ensure all deliverables are met prior to payment 
  • Work with accounting to resolve payment discrepancies and issues 
  • Maintain electronic contract / document database, ensuring appropriate documentation is filed and current at all times 
  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Commercial Negotiation

 
  • Solid understanding of contractual terms & conditions and able to craft structured agreements with legal and stakeholder input
  • Basic understanding of EPC contractor’s position, desired outcomes, and leverage points

Supplier Relationship Management
 
  • Identifies critical suppliers and creates appropriate engagement plans to ensure our Supply Chain risk profile and inputs to continuous improvement are proactively managed
  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach with supply base and develops integrated plans to drive appropriate value for business and customer requirements
  • Builds appropriate supplier performance measurements (KPIs) into contractual frameworks
  • Holds suppliers to account for performance delivery using KPI data and strategic business reviews

Procurement Process Management and Improvement
 
  • Drive continuous improvement for RFP/ RFI processes and supplier management system

Systems and Analytics
 
  • Demonstrates ability in working with multiple ERP systems: Procore, Ariba, Netsuite, etc.
  • Understands how to analyze large data sets and extract information for strategic decision making
Market and Supplier Development
  • Basic understanding of supplier landscape, risks, and benefits in renewable industry
  
Knowledge & Experience Required:
 
  
  • 3+ years of working experiences 
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement system 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Good working knowledge of procurement strategies 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • A highly motivated, focused, and positive attitude 
  • Self-directed individual who can effectively manage multiple projects and use time effectively
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
