• Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.

• Works within a team to create design of new products and support existing products.

• Uses 3D modeling software (Solidworks preferred) to create preliminary designs and detailed machine drawings of the product.

• Produces specifications for products and chooses raw materials and components to be used in production.

• Builds prototypes of the product and perform tests on the design.

• Create/update Bill of Materials for product(s).

• Write detailed work instructions related to assembly/manufacture of produc.t

• Evaluates test data and makes improvements on existing designs.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.
 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent mechanical and technical skills.

• Experience with MS Office tools including, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

• Knowledgeable of ASME standard drafting practices including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

• Proficient with Solidworks software.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering required.

• 1-2 years of experience preferred.
