Job Summary:
Responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget. The Project Manager plans and designates project resources, prepares budgets, monitors progress, and keeps stakeholders informed along the way.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Must have 5-7 plus years telecommunications experience (fiber long-haul, distribution, fiber to the home).
Determine and define project scope and objectives
Must have excellent organization and planning skills
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
Manage internal, external and cross-functional teams
Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements
Track project costs in order to meet budget; responsible for P&L
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
Manage relationship with clients and communicate expected deliverables
Must have 7+ years in construction management
Must have experience in Aerial and Underground Telecommunications construction methods and specifications; Fiber to the home experience is helpful
Must have knowledge of resource management and scheduling methods
Must be competent in conflict and crisis management
Must be able to manage multiple work projects/zones simultaneously with a constant eye on quality
Must have knowledge of jobsite safety practices
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
Must haver a valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
Forklift certification preferred.
Required Skills & Qualifications: General
Must have 5-7 plus years telecommunications experience (fiber long-haul, distribution, fiber to the home).
Bachelor's degree in business, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related field or a related field
7+ years of aerial and underground construction
5+ years of project management in the telecom construction industry.
3+ years of experience supervising and managing personnel, including project support staff
Proven ability to solve problems creatively
Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
Excellent analytical skills
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Strong presentation skills
Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
Technical
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Experience with project management software tools
Advanced experience with MS Excel, Visio, and Google Earth
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
Experience coaching and educating project teams to strengthen team members’ capabilities and skill sets.
Experience in construction quality management and assurance, including testing, special inspection, permitting, and system commissioning.
Experience working on projects involving design permitting and construction.
Skilled in interpreting telecommunications construction drawings in hard copy and digital format, GIS experience is a plus.
Experienced in providing redline updates to construction plans
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
