Job Summary:

The Permitting Manager will research and prepare documentation for required permits, right of ways, easements, and land use for building and executing large scale infrastructure programs and projects. Working with multiple contacts, the permitting manager is responsible for submitting complete, correct and compliant information to project and construction management teams, municipalities and contractors within timeframes assigned.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Mentor and provide constructive feedback to improve the skills of the permitting team.
  • Continuously evaluate and inform each direct report's performance and improve their current skills for the advancement of the team
  • Support engineering teams across the company to inform them of changes in jurisdictional requirements or provide training for engineers new to the idea of permitting.
  • Create a permit matrix that identifies permit requirements by construction method and environment for multiple jurisdictions in a geographical region.
  • Offer permitting expertise and guidance to internal and external customers.
  • Create standards and ad-hoc reports for internal management.
  • Maintain and update the permitting tracker to capture all status and updates.
  • Order permitting materials as needed.
  • Provide status updates to appropriate client contacts while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

General
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years permitting experience in a wireline, wireless or telecom engineering/construction setting.
  • Ability to work with jurisdictions to create and maintain relationships that benefit the permitting process for everyone.
  • Ability to verify that all existing and new substructures as well as aerial facilities are correctly depicted and located per jurisdictional requirements.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Working experience and understanding of AutoCAD, Microstation, Adobe Acrobat Pro and/or other PDF editing software. Ability to learn new systems and databases quickly.
  • Previous experience managing personnel preferred.
  • Deadline driven, self-motivated, and technically savvy.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
  • Superior time management skills.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to be flexible, take direction with ease, including changes to schedule and workflow priorities.
  • Critical thinking skills; able make assessments and provide solutions to problems.
  • Ability to maintain professional tact in a fast-paced work environment with internal personnel and clients.
  • Superior customer service. Dedication to providing customers “White Glove Service”.

Technical
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft office experience, intermediate in Excel

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, logistics, supply management, or related field preferred
  • Strong telecommunications industry knowledge
