The Role


The M&A Senior Analyst for National Grid Renewables is a critical role as the company transitions from start-up to a mature growth business and has responsibility for supporting and expanding the acquisition, divestiture, and business development functions.  
Core responsibilities for the M&A Senior Analyst include:
  • Work in partnership with internal groups to develop and execute the company’s acquisition and divestiture strategy to support the business objectives
  • Source opportunities through relationships with other developers, brokers and advisors, responding to incoming opportunities as well as developing creative leads
  • Perform both supporting and lead roles in negotiation, structuring, and closing of the transactions
  • Facilitate investment and divestment communications and decision-making including across internal stakeholder groups
  • Lead the cross-functional processes to assess valuation, complete due diligence, and to obtain internal approvals
  • Support the post-acquisition development and financing of the acquired projects
  • Ability to travel as necessary to manage relationships and transactions

 

Candidate Profile


The successful candidate will possess the commercial skills, credibility, and drive to develop and implement the M&A strategy and initiatives that will help drive the future growth of the Renewables business. S/he must be self-motivated to successfully partner and collaborate with a range of stakeholders and team members in a matrix environment. This must be coupled with a strong intellect, determination, and a high degree of curiosity in order to play a meaningful role in the continued success of the company.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in either energy or renewable energy
  • The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the experience and motivation necessary to succeed in the role, combined with the capability and potential to continue to grow and take on broader and deeper accountabilities as the business evolves.
  • Wide and active network of industry relationships in the renewable energy sector
  • Demonstrated knowledge of power market fundamentals and trends, including renewable energy and energy storage
  • Understanding of project development and financial aspects of wind, solar, and energy storage
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational commitment & high level of initiative
