AutoCAD Drafter - JIRACOR (IT Upgrades and Electronic Classrooms)
Job Summary: JIRACOR, a leading defense contractor specializing in cutting-edge IT upgrades and electronic classrooms, is seeking a talented AutoCAD Drafter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in creating precise and detailed technical drawings for our innovative projects in defense technology. Working closely with our team of engineers and project managers, you will contribute to the successful implementation of IT infrastructure upgrades and the development of state-of-the-art electronic classrooms for both military and educational clients.
Responsibilities:- Utilize AutoCAD software to produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings, layouts, and models for IT upgrades and electronic classroom projects.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and translate design specifications into comprehensive drawings.
- Incorporate industry standards and security protocols into the drafting process, ensuring that all IT infrastructure upgrades comply with relevant regulations and best practices.
- Create detailed floor plans, elevations, and schematics for electronic classrooms, encompassing computer systems, network infrastructure, and interactive learning technologies.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from project stakeholders, ensuring all changes are accurately incorporated into the design documentation.
- Conduct regular quality checks on drawings to guarantee precision, completeness, and compliance with company standards and project requirements.
- Manage and organize drawing files and documentation for easy retrieval and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay updated with the latest AutoCAD features and functionalities, implementing time-saving techniques and best practices to optimize the drafting process.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including construction plans, technical reports, and progress updates.
Requirements:- Associate degree or higher in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as an AutoCAD Drafter, ideally in the defense contracting industry, IT infrastructure, or educational technology projects.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD software with the ability to create complex 2D and 3D models, develop technical drawings, and utilize specialized tools and commands.
- Familiarity with defense industry standards, security protocols, and IT infrastructure requirements is highly advantageous.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and relevant design standards.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to deliver high-quality drawings in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, project managers, and other stakeholders.
- Team player mindset with the ability to take direction from senior team members while also contributing innovative ideas.
- Knowledge of audiovisual systems, network infrastructure, and educational technology is beneficial.
Working Environment: The AutoCAD Drafter will work in an office environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Depending on project requirements, occasional visits to military facilities or educational institutions may be necessary.
