function of the role, as well as equity to any other employees in the same
or similar role.

Job Summary:
This is a remote field position focused on supporting our WV territory. The role will involve spending some time in our WV offices and the remaining time on job sites across the state. The Field Engineer/Inspector I reviews work at project sites to ensure work at existing and previous job sites is completed safely and efficiently. This position requires inspection of the installation of telecommunication practices.

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Support Foreman, Construction Coordinators, and Construction Managers to monitor and enforce all company and outside required safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure and maintain adherence to health and safety regulations to aid in reduction of safety issues, at all times.
  • Monitor and report on aerial and underground fiber optic construction crew progress and quality of installation.
  • Call in or email locates and confirm locates are completed and current, prior to construction.
  • Observe construction activities and inspect (QA/QC) job sites, work progress, work completed, workmanship, construction crews, and subcontractors and coordinate with Construction Manager to complete as-builts (Inspect, Validate and Verify).
  • Organize equipment, material, and labor to complete project in a timely manner.
  • Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections and complete appropriate forms to ensure compliance.
  • Take pictures of job sites, pole conditions and other relevant structures or landmarks.
  • Open hand holes to inspect facilities (substructure conditions, fiber placement, and condition).
  • Report daily on production capturing quantities for work performed.
  • Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements.
  • Assisting in the development of test methods and inspection plans.
  • Ensure that the jobsite remains clean at all times.
  • Develop/learn technical competencies as defined by departmental management, through on-the-job training.
  • Identify, meet and/or exceed client expectations within defined parameters related to delivery of services, quality, revenue, and sales goals.
  • Represent Congruex and Client in a professional manner, fostering a healthy workplace environment on all aspects of the jobsite.
  • Travel to and supervise multiple job sites during the course of a day.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Focus on quality.
  • Ability to be flexible, take direction with ease including changes to schedule and workflow priorities.
  • Ability to proactively and consistently adhere to safe work practices.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Time Management, organization, and planning skills.
  • Ability to multitask.

  • Interact effectively customers and landowners representing Gudenkauf.
  • Extended travel may be required, on occasion (out of market).
  • Must be able to work long hours (overtime), weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background screen including an acceptable motor vehicle report.
  • Physical requirements:
    • Ability to stand, stoop, squat, and bend for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to walk for extended periods of time and/or long distances.
    • Ability to navigate through potential uneven walkways/terrain.
    • Ability to work and tolerate extreme elements (heat, cold, sun, wind, rain, snow, etc.)
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Basic knowledge of construction.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • OSHA 10 certification is a plus.
  • CDL Driver is a plus.
