Job Summary: The Area Project Manager will have overall operational and administrative responsibility for our construction offices in the Ohio area. You will take over existing and established office already up and running fully. Will lead, guide, and direct the telecommunications construction operations of the office and ensure your team is fully engaged, productive and efficient.The Project Manager will also maintain primary contact with the owners’ representatives and generates, plans, directs, and coordinates day-to-day operations, usually through communication with other Managers, Coordinators, Field Engineers, Foremen, or Subcontractors. They develop a process for resourcing, monitoring, controlling, completion, and invoicing of ongoing and potential projects to ensure the project is completed on schedule, within budget and within the terms and conditions of client contracts.
Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications to ensure projects are run effectively and efficiently.
Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
Must have excellent organization and planning skills.
Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan.
Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
Manage internal, external, and cross-functional teams.
Interpret and explain project plans and contract terms to staff and clients.
Provide Technical and Strategic planning & management oversight, ensuring production POR and revenue goals, as well as SLAs are met.
Ensure all daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and production reporting is submitted, tracked, and verified daily.
Work with Contract Administrator/Finance Controller, VP and General Manager to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest.
Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
Direct the construction and activation efforts through a team of Project Coordinators, utilizing in-house crews and subcontractors.
Plan and anticipate challenges in the construction tasks given to us by our customers. Respond proactively to dynamic changes.
Lead, guide and motivate technical staff and administrative team.
Manage production, invoicing, and collections.
Requirements:
Must have 5+ years in construction management.
Strong leadership skills are a must. Ability to manage a diverse and multi-faceted team.
Outstanding written and verbal communications both internally and with customers and vendors.
Working knowledge of telecommunications industry both aerial and underground construction.
Relevant experience in the telecom and construction industry including, but not limited to:
Fiber optic and coax RF networks construction methodologies and performance
Full understanding of Aerial and Underground telecommunications specifications
Knowledge and versatility in Local / DOT / Utility permit regulations and procurement
Demonstrated Project Management experience (PMP or Equivalent Training Preferred).
Demonstrated computer knowledge to include but not be limited to Microsoft Office, Team, etc.
Ability to travel.
Technical:
Fiber Technology (FTTH, CWDM, DWDM, Muxing)
FR Design and performance over coax (various sizes)
Previous experience working from blueprints, and specifications.
Experience in working with conduit, fiber, manhole and hand hole placement.
Demonstrated computer knowledge to include but not be limited to Microsoft Office, Team, etc.
Experience with Project Management, Scheduling, and financial software applications such as Microsoft Project, Site Tracker, On-Line Ticketing, and payment Portals
Excel, Smartsheet, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook Email
Orca, ACAS, Verrasat, Site Tracker job issuance, tracking and invoicing system (will train)
