As for what we do, LIVIC is primarily a site/civil engineering firm which focuses on land development, municipal services, traffic and transportation engineering, GIS, and landscape design. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

LIVIC Civil is looking to fill an internship position. The candidate should be flexible and able to adapt to changing activities and workloads.  The position will require good interpersonal skills that allow the candidate to effectively collaborate with other team members of varying backgrounds and experiences.

As LIVIC continues to grow, we are always in search of fresh talent, so feel free to reach out even if you don’t quite match the position requirements. As of now, we employ multiple engineers specializing in Land Development, Traffic and Transportation, Municipal and Energy markets. In addition, we have drafting professionals, landscape architects, a utility coordinator, a construction manager, three survey crews and a GIS analyst. We have a diverse staff in terms of work experience and area of expertise. Generally, if you are willing to learn, we are willing to teach you.

Essential job functions include:
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microsoft Office.
  • Understand drafting standards and file configurations.  Create new parts, piping networks and bill of materials.
  • Learn and process engineering change requests utilizing engineering sketches and annotated drawings
  • Specify and document dimensions, materials, and procedures
  • Participate in quality initiatives and training as required
  • Work from verbal or written instructions or rough sketches, may layout and preliminary “study” drawings, layout, and detail engineering projects.
  • Use of appropriate tools and equipment, including computer-assisted drafting equipment, develop and prepare neat, accurate, and legible detailed engineering drawings of an elementary nature involving basic design work.
  • Other duties as assigned
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

This position is suited to a self-motivated, professional person who can confidently work with a variety of people from different backgrounds within the Civil Engineering field. Strong communication and organizational skills are important to the success of this position. Ability to be a self-starter with attention to detail and follow through. Enthusiasm to learn and develop with maintaining a positive, solution driven attitude.
  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
  • Accommodate necessary travel needs between offices
  • Ability to:
    • Manage time effectively; prioritize and handle multiple tasks and responsibilities
    • Work in a team environment as well as independently
    • Establish and maintain effective work relationships, interact effectively with others
    • Adapt to changing work priorities, understand and follow direction
    • Overcome internal and external procedural challenges by offering solutions that will lead to overall operational satisfaction.
  • Strong PC Skills i.e. Word, Excel, MS Outlook, Virtual Conferencing
  • High standards of confidentiality to handle sensitive information
  • Excellent Written and Oral Skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software such as AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microsoft Office.
