About the Position: 
National Grid Renewable’s is seeking a Asset Management Pre-COD Analyst. This role will expand on the candidate’s technical knowledge, grow them cross functionally, and will challenge their communication skills, and allow for line of sight into virtually all areas of the company. The duties of the candidate will have a real impact on the firm and ensure successful project delivery.  Additionally, this role will serve as a steppingstone for future internal opportunities.   


What You'll Do: 
  • Serve as the face of the project for all non-construction activities to ensure it is successfully transitioned into the operational portfolio   
  • Lead, or guide associates/analysts, on late-stage development projects to commercial operations through programmatic oversight of project stakeholders
  • Continue to build Stage Gate process, sub-process development and digital tools to track milestones and tasks
  • Identify business process gaps and work with company leadership to resolve in the short and long term
  • Strategic content creation to educate stakeholders regarding technical, contractual, or financial areas of the pre-COD project  
  • Triaging various project issues with ISOs/RTOs (ERCOT, SPP, PJM, and MISO) 
  • ISO registrations including generating resource and market participant/QSE 
  • REC registration and certifications 
  • Offtaker management and compliance reporting 
  • Project contract and agreement compliance/review/creation
  • Serving as a feedback loop to improve Stage Gate and to inform the Origination, Development, Investment Portfolio Management, and Project Finance teams
  • Review all upstream PPAs with Origination team to de-risk future operations. 
  • Write and develop processes as required
  • Other related activities, as required

 
What You'll Need: 
  • Living in the Minneapolis metro or willingness to relocate.  In person stakeholder management is essential
  • Bachelor’s degree and an aptitude to roll up your sleeves to solve problems 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
  • 5+ Years of direct renewables/power industry or consulting in the power industry including direct experience with 1-2 RTOs   
  • Experience navigating RTO business manuals and tariffs
  • Experience with PPAs, GIAs, or project contracts 
  • Project or program management experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (esp. Excel, Word, Power Point) and PowerBI 
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills 
  • Time management capabilities 
  • Organized with a willingness to learn 
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and a positive attitude
