General Overview
The Knowledge House’s mission is to empower and sustain a talent pipeline of technologists, entrepreneurs, and digital leaders who will uplift their communities out of poverty.

The Knowledge House (TKH) approach is to (1) close gaps in the education­-to-­employment pipeline in underserved Bronx neighborhoods by teaching young adults aged 16­-24 skills to launch careers or ventures in technology, and (2) support links between local youth, tech innovation, and business development that bring positive community impact.

Headquartered in the South Bronx, the poorest congressional district, TKH has served more than 1,850 students. Current core programs include our Innovation Fellowship in software engineering for adult job trainees and our Karim Kharbouch Coding Fellowship for high school students to learn web design.
 
Role Overview
The Knowledge House is seeking a Senior Manager of Partner Programs to lead and manage the launch of pilot partnership-driven digital equity and workforce development programs. Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy & Innovation, this role will be instrumental in leading the implementation of partnership-driven programs and pilots.
 
Throughout 2024 and 2025, the primary program this role will lead the launch and implementation for is a workforce program based in Stamford, CT. The Senior Manager of Partner Programs will manage a learning community of approximately 25 learners throughout the end-to-end fellowship experience, from admissions through job placement. Successful outcomes for this role include partnering with community and corporate partners to enroll a cohort of 20-30 adult learners. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for upholding 80% learner retention through the learning phases of the fellowship. In the final phase of the program, they will manage all learner-facing efforts needed to support hiring of 80% alumni by coaching alumni through the job search and interview process.
 
To be successful in this role, you will bring excellent communication, administrative, and program management skills, as well as the ability to interface with students and outside stakeholders as we work to achieve our mission. You will be comfortable managing through ambiguity and working collaboratively across teams to ensure that all goals and metrics centered on student success are achieved. The ideal candidate is motivated by building and implementing programs, establishing strong relationships with learners and partners alike, and having an affinity for learning through testing and data-informed decision-making.
 
Key Areas of Responsibility
 
Program Innovation & Partnership Management (40%)
Note: for 2024-2025, this responsibility largely reflects the needs of the Stamford, CT program and may shift over time.
  • Project manage the implementation of partnership-based pilot programs through scoping, delivery, and evaluation
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of programs, including the calendar and program staff assignments/accountabilities
  • Manage data collection in Salesforce and synthesize/report out on trends, to both The Knowledge House and key partners, identifying data that informs necessary pivots in student support or program delivery
  • Oversee student transition into program(s), coordinate orientation activities, and ensure that students become acquainted with resources, staff, and program expectations
  • Work with the Student Success Specialist to nurture community partnerships to create a network of support services for fellows
  • Partner with the Manager of Instruction and Curricula to equip instructional team with the tools to support classroom setup, share student feedback, and address classroom concerns
  • Coordinate efforts and schedules while maintaining a positive group dynamic amongst both staff and students. Ensure activities are planned and executed with high quality, including new student orientation and student events such as volunteer engagements, workshops, hackathons, corporate office visits, and guest speakers
 
Program Management (50%)
Fellow Performance Management
  • Implement asset-based, skills-focused readiness plans for fellows in all phases of the program, acting as a key driver of all student performance evaluation and support
  • Collaborate with Student Success Specialist and instructional team to identify and respond to student needs; ensure students receive high-quality services and individualized support
  • Drive the development and management of individualized student performance/professional development plans in coordination with aforementioned stakeholders to ensure student success, driving 80% student retention
  • Build and manage relationships with the instructional team to align around student performance, academic excellence and, ensure that the needs of all parties are met and drive a process to share information on an on-going basis
 
Oversee Fellow Case Management
  • Supervise case management per program site and provide Student Success Specialists with the planning tools and coaching on identifying barriers to employment, trauma-informed care,  mediation strategies, documenting incidents, customizing performance plans, and empowering students
  • Check in with Student Success Specialist weekly on case management for assigned caseload to ensure students are receiving the appropriate support services to pursue their career track and maintaining their persistence level
  • With the Student Success Specialist, create work plans for at-risk students and report up to the leadership team, provide intervention strategies, and coach the students on probation, ensuring students get the high support the need to be successful
 
Career Coaching & Instruction
  • Support, teach,  and assess students in a weekly career development course and ongoing 1:1 career coaching, ensuring fellows are prepared for job placement following graduation
  • Systematically deliver skills-based seminars and courses for graduates of the program as they continue on their job search; including but not limited to topics such as resume writing, job searches, interviewing techniques and make connections to higher education resources like FAFSA, grant/scholarship research, and college enrollment
  • Coach students and alumni through the job search and application process leveraging local and regional partners for connections to employers, driving 80% alumni job placement
  • Track job placement metrics within a CRM system (i.e. Salesforce.com)
 
Develop and Supervise a High-Performing Team (10%)
  • In partnership with the Senior Director of Strategy, hire a Student Success Specialist, Instructor, and Teaching Assistant plus collaborate on training and supporting team members to achieve their deliverables in 2024-2025
  • Hold team members accountable for reaching individual goals
  • Directly supervise Student Success Specialist and Instructor and lead weekly Program team meetings
  • Effectively plan staffing resources to identify hiring needs and staff development needs that meet the needs of our evolving strategy and innovative partnership-based pilots
 
Qualifications
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in workforce development, higher education, student affairs, or similarly relevant fields.
  • At least 2 years of experience managing and leading a diverse team: building team culture and helping team members exceed their goals and develop professionally.
 
Skills & Approach to Work
  • Adaptive, flexible, and highly focused, demonstrating a readiness to support organizational growth. Interest in working in dynamic, complex start-up and/or entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated success in student performance management, community building, program management, and/or partnership management
  • Willingness and aptitude for managing for today while planning for the future; motivated by leveraging learnings from current  initiatives and pilots to influence longer term strategy in collaboration with team members
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and projects at one time, delivering within deadlines
  • Proven ability to make good, proactive decisions in complex  situations and/or in the absence of complete clarity; comfortable taking risks. Sound judgment, maturity and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrated experience teaching and facilitating workforce readiness curriculum and trainings with a commitment to asset-based adult learning principles
  • Demonstrated knowledge of job coaching, career counseling, job training and/or enterprise staffing requirements; high comfort level in having one-on-one coaching conversations with staff and students alike
  • Familiarity with the complex challenges that educators face in their work to support youth who are the furthest from economic and educational opportunity. Service-minded, supportive, and demonstrates care and empathy for stakeholders
  • A passion and love for our fellows and their genius. A tenacious desire to smash all barriers in the way of our fellows accessing rewarding, high-paying careers in technology.
  • Knowledge of the educational and workforce landscape, particularly in Connecticut, is a plus
  • Ability to travel occasionally and participate in evening and weekend networking events.  Notably, the bulk of our fellowship program is delivered in the evenings and this role will be expected to work 1-2 days in-person in Stamford, CT. Furthermore, this role may occasionally travel to New York City for team meetings 
  • Digital proficiency, including knowledge of or willingness to learn: Google Suite, Zoom, Slack, Asana, and Salesforce
 
Compensation
  •  $83,000-$110,000/year salary
