Compensation: $22 - $36 (per hour)

Job Summary:
We are looking for an Aerial Lineman to join our growing team. The Aerial Lineman will be responsible for building and maintaining aerial telecommunications systems which can consist of aerial and underground facilities. We are looking for someone with thorough knowledge of electricity, pole-line materials, and the proper and safe use of tools and equipment with previous telecommunications construction experience. 

Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
  • Build and maintain aerial telecommunications systems which can consist of aerial and underground facilities
  • Place and remove utility poles
  • Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more
  • Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more
  • Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers and flag traffic when required
  • Understand separation and clearance regulations
  • Plan and initiate projects
  • Trim trees and clear routes
  • Interact with customers, utility owners and governmental officials always representing Gudenkauf in a positive and professional manner
  • Identify areas where processes and procedures could be improved to elevate the company as a whole
  • Clean and maintain all company vehicles and equipment assigned for use
  • Perform duties in standard and high-risk areas
  • Safely and successfully perform duties all year round
  • Perform physical tasks required to successfully complete day-to-day operations
  • Travel overnight to various sites as requested
Required Skills:
  • Have a thorough knowledge of electricity, pole-line materials, the proper and safe use of tools and equipment used in line construction and maintenance
  • Have a thorough knowledge of RUS Construction Specifications, be familiar with the Aerial Safety Codes and Practices, and work methods associated with aerial line work
  • Valid Driver’s License (unrestricted)
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • General knowledge of construction practices and equipment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with the crew, leadership, and clients
  • Function effectively as an integral part of a team
  • Meet physical demands – lift and/or move 50 to 150 pounds
  • Ability to perform all work outdoors, subject to inclement weather conditions
Desired Qualifications:
  • CDL preferred, or willing to obtain one
  • OSHA certified
