ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

LIVIC Civil is seeking a motivated candidate to fill a part-time position for an Electrical Engineer in its Transportation Division. This candidate's primary role will be responsible for the development of reports and design documents including electrical plans, equipment schematic diagrams, electrical load calculations, and electrical components that meet federal, state, and local codes and specifications. While this position will primarily support LIVIC’s existing workload, opportunities exist for the Electrical Engineer to build their own team of professionals to support additional workload that can be secured through the candidates relationships.
  • Site Surveys of existing system conditions for interface of new designs with existing electrical and control systems.
  • Assist Construction Team with electrical shop drawing reviews, contractor relations, and site surveys
  • Lead the preparation of designs, calculations, and construction drawings as the project design team’s senior technical professional, direct, manage, and review development and production of work to complete design.
  • Performs electrical & quantity calculations, construction cost estimates, technical proposals, and hour estimates.
  • Compliance with Client and Company Standards of Quality Control and Engineering Guidelines
  • Conduct quality work within budget and meetings for clients, state agencies, city agencies, utility representatives, and project teams.
  • Prepare project specifications and electrical construction cost estimates
  • Coordinate with peers and project managers regarding project progress

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Electrical Power Design Experience
  • Understanding of the National Electrical Code and other NFPA codes/standards
  • Familiarity with AASHTO Roadway Lighting Design Guide, ANSI/IES RP-8-22
  • Understanding of reports, feasibility studies, designs, specifications, cost estimates, and construction activity support
  • Experience with AutoCAD, AGi 32, Visual Lighting, MS Word and MS Excel

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • PennDOT Project Experience
  • Project Management and Leadership skills
  • Experience with Microstation
