Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analyze and review medical records for completeness and accuracy of documentation according to specified insurance standards.
  • Log and release sales order for delivery after completeness is determined.
  • Assure template is set to run monthly after documentation is determined to be complete.
  • Send documentation to physician’s office for recertification as needed.
  • Turn off template according to company policy.
  • Assign severity for needed paperwork for work in progress (WIPs) according to need.
  • Monitor completion of medical records in accordance with insurance standards. ·
  • Audit incomplete records and send back to physicians as needed and/or creates work in progress (WIPs) accordingly.
  • Confers with doctors, nurses, and other health personnel to assure complete, current, and accurate medical records.
  • Send complete information to insurance companies for required authorization.
  • Maintain and review logs, reports, and statistical records, and research records to locate health data as requested.
  • Answer calls from patients and health care facilities as needed. · Maintain and utilize a variety of health record indexes, storage, and retrieval systems.
  • Operate computer to process, store, and retrieve health information
  • Assist in identification of medical records needed for research using computer indexes.
  • Assists DocuCert Manager or DocuCert Lead (s) in special studies or research, as needed.
  • Train clerical staff in record logging process activities or authorization request as needed.
