Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Analyzes and reviews medical records for completeness and accuracy of documentation according to specified insurance standards.
  • Once completeness is determined, employee releases sales order for delivery.
  • Assures templates are set to run monthly once documentation is determined to be complete.
  • Send documentation to physician’s office for recertification as needed.
  • Turns off templates according to Company policy.
  • Assigns needed paperwork severity WIPs according to need.
  • Monitors completion of medical records in accordance with insurance standards.
  • Audits incomplete records and sends back to Dr. as needed or creates WIPs accordingly.
  • Confers with doctors, nurses, and other health personnel to assure complete, current, and accurate medical records.
  • Send complete information to ins companies for authorization required by insurance.
  • Compiles, maintains, and reviews logs, reports, and statistical records, and researches records to locate health data as requested.
  • Answers calls from patients and health care facilities as needed.
  • Maintains and utilizes a variety of health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems.
  • Operates computer to process, store, and retrieve health information.
  • Assists in identification of medical records needed for research using both manual and computer indexes.
  • Assists DocuCert Manager in special studies or research, as needed.
  • Trains clerical staff in medical record processing activities.
  • Prepares input for computerized medical information systems and for processing insurance, and other forms and documents.
  • Participates in traditional and e-learning programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Works effectively with other company employees, managers, and departments.
Education, Certificate, and Licensure

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three months industry related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Requirements

Must demonstrate practical knowledge of computers, software, and products applicable to the industry. Additionally, the applicant is expected to demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental program structure (Mission, Vision, and Goal Statements) and department policies and procedures. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, as needed, and have the ability to demonstrate effective time management skills while working independently with minimal supervision.
