Job Summary
The NMC&A Statistician plans, organizes, and directs NMC&A statistical evaluation programs. Performs or supervises the collection/analysis of data and assures proper communication of results. Provides technical support to the Measurement Control Coordinator (MCC) to monitor measurement biases and establish bias corrections.
Job Duties / Responsibilities
Primary job duties and responsibilities include the following:- Directs statistical evaluation programs designed to provide information on which technical, operational, or management decisions can be based.
- Establishes program objectives, parameters, methods, and procedures to be used, and performs and oversees the performance of work required to assure program objectives are met.
- Develops processes to include:
- Establishing Measurement Variances
- Determining Standard Error of the Inventory Difference (SEID)
- Active Inventory Calculations to evaluate the significance of Inventory Differences (IDs)
- Determine and application of Bias Corrections
- Shipper/Receiver Difference (SRD) Evaluations
- Trend Analyses
- Sampling Program
- Control Chart Limits
- Responsible for preparation and presentation of reports and summaries on results and/or status of studies and analyses to staff and regulators
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification / Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint to generate reports, charts, spreadsheets, and presentations.
Academic training in statistics and training in statistical applications for nuclear materials safeguards programs.
Preference given to candidates with prior 10 CFR Parts 70 or 76 NRC Nuclear Material Control and Accountability experience.Supervisory Responsibilities
