Manufacturing Supervisor, Full-Time, (2nd shift)
Accupac is hiring for a full-time Manufacturing Supervisor to join our 2nd shift team at our Mainland, PA. location.
Basic Job Functions:
Plans and coordinates all of the activities associated with the manufacturing department including preparation of a weekly manufacturing schedule, development of new SOP’s, and documentation of all departmental training sessions. Responsible for enforcing the adherence to the FDA’s cGMP’s, Accupac’s SOP’s, and customer’s product specifications.

Essential Functions of the Job:- Enforce compliance with established Accupac, Inc. SOP’s, the FDA’s cGMP’s and customer’s written procedures.
- Interview prospective new hires for department.
- Coordinate job performance appraisals and assist in disciplinary actions.
- Develop effective organizational development through training and motivation.
- Develop a weekly schedule that directs the activities of the manufacturing personnel to assure that the department provides necessary departments with the appropriate manufacturing requirements.
- Direct and audit the performance of the manufacturing personnel for adherence to the customer’s specifications and procedures.
- Audit compliance to established safety procedures regarding raw material handling and equipment usage.
- Perform routine raw material inventory audits to assure accurate record keeping and accountability.
- Perform audit of completed batches for compliance and proper documentation procedures.
- Coordinate and direct calibration of departmental equipment.
- Assist departmental employees in executing their assigned tasks, as necessary.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving departmental problems in an analytical and practical way.
- Develop, review and edit new or revised Accupac SOP’s
- Review new projects for obstacles which might impede effectiveness and efficiency
- Interact directly with potential and existing customers on new or current projects.
- Interact with project management on status of projects
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and/or repairs
- Perform product nonconformance investigations, summarizing the investigation and implementing corrective action
- Seek to reduce labor costs and improve manufacturing efficiency
- Provide management with product yield information for budgeting purposes
- Communicate effectively at all levels
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements of the Job:- Possess effective management and people skills
- Able to read, write, speak and understand the English language effectively.
- Possess excellent reading comprehension skills.
- Able to prepare reports, training records and manuals
- Able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages) with both whole numbers and fractions.
- Possess good mechanical aptitude
- Able to operate a forklift or pallet mover safely
- Able to be self-motivated and to derive self-satisfaction from a successful project
- Possess training associated with the position of Chemweigh Technician and/or Compounder.
- Able to work different scheduled hours/shifts/days or overtime to meet the manufacturing schedule.
- Possess a working knowledge of current company software packages for word processing and spreadsheets.
- Possess a thorough working knowledge of the FDA’s Current Good Manufacturing Practices as it relates to manufacturing operations.
- Able to present a neat, professional appearance on a consistent basis.
- Able to conduct responsibilities in a professional manner that displays confidence and maturity.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in manufacturing.
Physical Requirements:- Able to sustain a minimum of one (1) hour of strenuous activity.
- Able to lift 50 lbs. from the floor to waist level.
- Able to carry a container weighing up to 50 lbs. up a flight of stairs.
- Able to perform repetitive movements.
- Able to move physically containers “off of” and “on to” pallets.
- Possess peripheral and color vision.
- Able to work different scheduled hours/shifts/days and overtime to meet the manufacturing schedule.
- Able to stand/walk on cement floors for 90% of the workday.
- Able to wear a half-face negative pressure air-purifying respirator.
- Able to pass the PFT test and physical examination.
- Able to work in a “dusty” environment.
- Able to push or pull weights up to 50 pounds.
- Able to hear/execute speech in person and over the telephone.
- Able to hear phones ring, alarms sound through ambient noise and everyday conversation.
- Able to sit at a desk for 50% of workday.
- Able to balance and work at heights of up to 20 feet.
