We are expanding our team; apply and grow with us! V-Tech Solutions, Inc. is looking for multiple enthusiastic Community Health Workers to provide quality care to the DC community. As an Outreach Specialist for V-Tech, you will represent the company and work with the management team to develop and implement initiatives that increase community development and wellness. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, and community-driven to take on this exciting role. This position requires someone with a positive attitude and the ability to be a team player.

This position requires you to be onsite and in person, as well as your full attendance for a multi week mandatory training at the start of employment. V-Tech offers competitive benefits, compensation, and other incentives.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidentiality of enrollee information
  • Work independently as well as support teamwork
  • Listen effectively, establish rapport, and show compassion to customers • Ability to build strong relationships in the community to assist community members • Connect community members to services as needed
  • Provide health education as necessary to community members

Required Skills:

  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel)
  • Strong decision-making skills and resourcefulness
  • Strong verbal and written communication, as well as exceptional reporting and presentation skills
  • Routing/Mapping experience
  • Friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
  • Detail-orientated with the ability to manage multiple projects at a time • Knowledge of the recovery process and the ability to facilitate recovery using established best practices
  • Knowledge and skill to teach and engage in basic problem-solving strategies to support individual consumers in self-directed recovery
  • Knowledge of the signs and symptoms of mental illness and substance abuse and the ability to assist consumers to address symptoms
  • Working knowledge of community resources necessary for independent living and the ability to teach those skills to other individuals with severe mental illness • Working knowledge of how to establish and sustain self-help (mutual support) and educational groups through input from mental health consumers
  • Peer Specialist or Recovery Coach must be in good standing within 90 days of being assigned to the Clinical Services Administration

Minimum Experience and Education

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required (BS/BA preference)
  • Experience in community work, community counseling, and outreach initiative Preferred Skills
  • Member-focused customer service experience
  • Bilingual a plus
  • Substance use disorder experience, preferred
  • Community Health Worker and/or Certified Recovery Specialist and/or Certified Peer Addiction Recovery Coach certification (DC, MD, VA licensure), preferred
